The shift
People are handing errands to AI assistants: finding a dentist, booking a table, getting a plumber out today. The agent does the searching, comparing and calling. If it can’t read, reach or book you, it quietly picks someone else.
Agents now pick up the phone
Yelp’s new “Check for Me” feature has an AI voice agent call restaurants on a user’s behalf to check wait times, then texts back the answer. Assistants like Instinct, Fo and Muse already call businesses to book appointments.
